EY ALTER EXPERIENCED LEARNERS – for pupils in year 15 and up

EY ALTER EXPERIENCED LEARNERS

Aging, what has that got to do with me? Discover why the new age mix in Germany also affects you. Experience how age can be moulded and what prejudices you should best do away with now.

What does it include?
“People are getting older? And, relatively speaking, there’s a lot of them? What has that got to do with me, I’m young!” At EY ALTER, you will discover how the make-up of our society is changing and why. You will get an idea of how demographic change is already influencing your life. And how you can achieve more with an unprejudiced view of the different generations. Age – it’s primarily in our heads!

Who is it for?
Pupils in year 15 and up accompanied by their teachers are welcome. At EY ALTER, demographic change in our society becomes an experience. The exhibition offers various starting points to big questions, like: What is age? How do I want to shape my biography? What opportunities will I have in the future? Why is lifelong learning really important?

What’s it about?
Your class will be greeted in the middle of the EY ALTER exhibition. Your EY ALTER explainer will introduce you to the world of demographics and illustrate the age development in Germany. A huge model of a head is the centrepiece of the exhibition. And the exhibition really is all about opening your mind – for scientifically-founded facts on age: “Good-bye age prejudice or age stereotypes, you have been refuted!” Learning and how the mechanisms of learning change with increasing age is being researched. The conclusion: almost everything is possible – at any age. Now, it’s time to test yourself and discover your own potential!

Who’s behind it?
The programme was developed in a collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and Population Europe. Population Europe is a leading European network for research into demographic change with headquarters in Berlin. It provided extensive school material and its “A Life Journey” app.
